Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome

Battlestar is back, and it's a webisode on YouTube called Blood and Chrome. The first episode is out now, and it features a young Bill Adama setting foot on the Galactica for the first time as a pilot. Go check it out! Mini-review after the jump.

If you watched the weirdzo brooding sci-fi drama that was Caprica, all you have to know is that Blood and Chrome is the exact opposite of that show. Blood and Chrome gets right into the thick of things, with minimal fuss. Spaceships blast away. Things frakking blow up. And they have to, the show is only 12 minutes long.

The original BSG was called a space opera, and Blood and Chrome feels just like the original show, but, well, without the operatic bits. It looks and smells like BSG, but so far, there's been no heavy drama, or incredible performances. Just a lot of vipers, some interesting scenes that show the old toaster-style cylons, and a lot of shooting in space. To some sci-fi fans, this is a good thing. It's a fast-paced action serial, and you know what? I'll take it.

Third World Nerd Verdict:
Watch it! It's just twelve minutes of your time, it's BSG, and it's frakking fun. Oh, and episode two is out now too.
