I've been gone from the blogging world for weeks now. Now I'm back. My mailbox was full of press releases. I discovered that the gadget world has advanced by a few light years in my absence. The Avengers saved the world. Diablo III launched. I missed it all.
Blame this guy, my second son, Iñigo, who was born on May 11.
So what did we miss?
Samsung Galaxy SIII
Samsung made a really strong push with this phone. My FB page was full of talk about the launch.
It looks like a mighty capable phone. They seem to be trying very hard to make the phone sexy like an iPhone, and you know what? I think they've succeeded.
Here's a video of some guys trying to destroy it and succeeding.
New MacBook Pros?
Mark the date, folks. On June 11, Apple will take the stage at WWDC and announce some new stuff. The rumor mill is churning as usual, and the experts say that it will be a refreshed MacBook Pro line with retina displays all around.
I recently laid eyes on the iPad 3's retina display and was disappointed that I was not blown away. It is visibly better, I will admit that. I just thought I would wet my pants or something. Make no mistake about it though, new MacBook Pro with retina display = sold.
E3 is upon us
It's ongoing right now. If you want to find out what the video game world is cooking up, check out the presscons of Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Ubisoft. No shortage of awesome games. Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 3, Star Wars: 1313, Tomb Raider, The Last Of Us, Borderlands 2…
I bought a new camera and lens
I've been dying to get myself an Olympus E-M5, and I've been threatening the wifey that I would buy one for the new baby. Instead, I bought a camera for the wifey and a new lens for me for next to nothing. A couple of weeks ago, Amazon was selling a Panasonic GF3 with the Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 lens for a whopping 55% off. It was almost like buying the camera body and the lens for the price of just the lens. The camera and lens combo just landed in my mits yesterday, I'll be writing about both the lens and the camera right here.
See you all again soon!
