Camera Sale: Nikon D300

Yes, we're selling stuff on Third World Nerd! Nikon cameras, and even Leica cameras. Awesome sauce!

The first camera we have for you is the Nikon D300, once the DX format flagship of Nikon. It's an excellent DSLR that I daresay is just as good today as it was when it was first released.

This one's in excellent shape -- just 9900 actuations. And it can be yours for US$950.

To put that actuation number into some kind of perspective, click here. The link says that the Nikon D300's shutter life expectancy is around 73,000 actuations, but most users experience failure at 129,000 actuations, at which point you'll just have to replace the shutter. This D300's got a lot of miles left in it.

Send me an email if you are interested.

The Details:
Nikon D300 (pictured above). Body only.

The Price:

Right now, the camera is in the US. If you're from there, we should be able to arrange for shipping. For readers based in the Philippines, the camera will be here in April. There are of course ways to ship here, but the safest/best option is handcarrying the cameras to the Philippines. For more info about this camera, read the section below.

If you're willing to wait for the camera to come here to the Philippines, meetup is best. Cash.

The story behind the Third World Nerd camera sale:
Camera addicts attract camera pushers like, well, drug addicts and drug pushers. So last year when I was looking to buy a new camera (or a great used camera), I got in touch with my uncle in the States who is a camera enthusiast and photographer. He is also quite the collector. I figured it would be good to buy from him because he shoots with a Leica M9 and owns a lot of cameras, so I'm guessing that his time with each is spread pretty thin, meaning his cameras don't get that much use. That's good for buyers! At the same time, he's a big camera nut and an active ebay seller, so he takes care of his gear.

For a while, I was on the verge of buying one of two Leica M8's that he had, but that purchase would have left me with no money to buy lenses so I stuck with the micro four thirds system instead. Maybe one day.

Anyway, Uncle Camera Pusher will be landing in the Philippines this April. And he's selling a few cameras from his collection. I'm helping him out. Send me a message if you're interested!

Drooling over the M9. But I guess by the time I get to own one, Leica has released M20 na. Hahaha. For now, Range Finder muna :)

Been there. :) It's called Leica gas. Causes stress and indigestion.

How about a film rangefinder?

If only films aren't that expensive, i'll go for it.

What we have right now is Panasonic LX-5, a Leica D-Lux 5 in Disguise. LOL!
