New Leica lens for Micro Four-Thirds

Panasonic recently announced the launch of this beauty: the Leica Summilux DG 25mm f/1.4 for Micro Four-Thirds cameras. I've got one of those cameras, so I'm very excited to see what this lens can do. I'm very happy with Panasonic's 20mm pancake lens for Micro Four-Thirds. Let's see if Panasonic can outdo themselves with this Leica-branded chunk of glass. Links to samples after the jump!

Print's not dead. It's now a footstool.

Now this is depressing. Yes, it's clever! Yes it's a smart way to recycle old things into new useful things! But as a former magazine editor, and still a magazine lover, this makes me very sad. (Follow the link to Lifehacker to see how to turn magazines into a footstool.) Once upon a time, people used to collect magazines and treasure them. Those days are now officially over. *sniff*

Coming soon: Olympus E-P3?

My favorite site, Micro Four Thirds rumors, has been rumbling about a "professional" Micro Four Thirds camera coming soon -- probably to be announced this June.

iCade, I Like!

Drool. I want this. It's a faux arcade cabinet for the iPad and it works with Atari's Greatest Hits app (and so far only Atari's Greatest Hits app). I actually had an Atari once. Good times...

There's an interesting story behind the iCade too. It started as an April Fool's prank by ThinkGeek. They made a mockup of the iCade and claimed it was a real product -- except now it's actually real and you can buy one for $99 (ouch). It's selling so well, it's already back-ordered.

Here's a review from Engadget. You can buy it from ThinkGeek, but they don't ship outside of the US. Who wants one?

Fun and Despair with Aperture 3

Was sniffing around the Mac App store, and I noticed that Aperture 3 is now just $19.99 (a huge price drop from $60 or something). I thought it would be a good time to revisit my love-hate relationship with Aperture 3.
