'Tis the season to buy gadgets! Here are the ones that are on the top of my list. It's not too late people! Hehehe.
1. iPhone 4S
Wow it's like everyone went crazy over this phone. Smart and Globe pushed it like crazy too. Take a look at their plans here and here. IF I were to go for one, I'd probably go for the cheapest unlimited data plan from Smart. They're just simpler. There are unlimited data plans for Globe too, but their plans make my head hurt. Anyway, I'm sure either telco has a plan that's right for you.
The thing is, the S variants of the iPhone are ones that I'd rather skip as the 4S is the same banana as the 4, just faster (and alright, with a better camera too). Still, I would love to have one if it were free!
2. Olympus M. Zuiko 12mm f/2.0
This lovely lens will complete my trio of fast prime lenses. With it, I'll have a 24mm, 40mm and 90mm equivalent setup, which covers most shooting situations except for stuff like bird watching, macro photos, and those crazy fish-eye photos.
The 12mm is a great (and sharp!) wide-angle lens, and it's rare to find wide angle lenses so bright. I could really use it because I do occasionally shoot landscape photos, like this one from my window. I should really get out more...
3. Grado headphones
This always seems to be on my Christmas list as the gadget that I can't get myself to buy on my own. There's always something else to spend money on. And yet I keep on wanting it. I can't explain it.
4. Kindle Fire
This list doesn't seem complete without some kind of tablet, so for now, I'll go with the Kindle Fire because I find myself reading more and more on tablet devices. And with Amazon as a content source for the Kindle Fire, you'll be in good hands. I'm not so sure about the apps though. If I could tear myself away from my dependency on iTunes, the Kindle Fire has a lot going for it, corny name notwithstanding. The $199 price tag almost makes it a no-brainer.
5. Portal 2 Turret Plush Toy
Oh those adorable Portal turrets! These plush versions talk too. Available from ThinkGeek for $34.99.
6. Panasonic LX5
My wife has been looking for a good compact camera, and if I were to get her a compact camera, this would be the one. Or I could get her an Olympus E-PM1 and we could share lenses. Hmmm...
