Lord of the Rings Trilogy out on Blu-ray

Put down your iPads; it's time to watch some Blu-ray movies. It may have taken a while, but Lord of the Rings is finally out on Blu-ray as of today, April 6. This release features all three movies in their theatrical versions -- not the Extended Editions that you already own on DVD.

This is definitely one disc that I'm picking up as soon as I find a copy. Yes, boys and girls, I am the biggest Lord of the Rings fan. Ever. Used to read the trilogy every year since I was 10. Used to watch the movie trilogy every year. Named my pet rabbits Saruman, Gandalf, and Galadriel. One of the reasons I became a writer was because of Lord of the Rings.

…So I'll be sniffing around in stores that sell Blu-ray discs here at the soonest possible opportunity. What stores, you ask? Infomax stores (I like the one in Theater Mall, Greenhills) and some Astrovision stores (the one in Greenbelt 5 is well-stocked in BD).

Nooooooo! Don't fall for it! You know they're just going to double-dip in another 6-12 months with the Blu-Ray Extended Editions!!!

Then the Ultimate Platinum Super Duper Edition with both movie versions and new content will come out six months after that! I'm going for this one, mostly because I've forgotten the theatrical versions already. Will fight to resist double dipping, probably lose...

What is double-dipping? It sounds bastos.
